“Celebrating Carolina’s Diversity” is a biannual electronic newsletter of the Alumni Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity (ACRED) sent to alumni and friends. It addresses news and issues that are important to our multicultural community.

MISSION/HISTORY

ACRED was created in 1999 during the Carolina First Capital Campaign. Our mission is to create deeper partnerships between the University and alumni of color. ACRED also aspires to generate more leadership roles for alumni of color wanting to re-engage with the University. Michael Kennedy ’79, served as the first chair of ACRED and went on to chair the Board of Visitors and was recently named as one of the co-chairs for the upcoming capital campaign. Today, ACRED is thriving.
