Project Uplift celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019, and seeks your help in paving the way for even more students. Since 1969, more than 35,000 promising high school students have visited UNC-Chapel Hill as part of this program designed to promote, and increase access to higher education among all outstanding students, especially those underrepresented in postsecondary education. Project Uplift is an immersive two days on campus that connects these students with the college experience during the summer between their junior and senior years in high school. Project Uplift opens their eyes to that possibility in their own futures.

To commemorate Project Uplift’s 50th year milestone anniversary, The University Office for Diversity and Inclusion and the Project Uplift 50 Alumni Advisory Board will host PU50, an anniversary reunion celebration on June 21-23, 2019 for all alumni whose Carolina journey was, in some way, impacted by Project Uplift – as a Project Uplift attendee, counselor, administrative staff member or program supporter.

For thousands of Carolina alumni, Project Uplift was the beginning of their Carolina journey. We invite you to join us at your beloved alma mater as we spend time celebrating each of your unique Project Uplift traditions and shared experiences.

Help secure the future of Project Uplift by making a gift today.
