North Carolina native Ryan Dial-Stanley ’20 remained dedicated to his cultural roots while on campus in Chapel Hill.

A member of the Lumbee tribe, Dial-Stanley served as the co-chair of the Powwow committee of the Carolina Indian Circle. The annual Powwows he led were close to his heart, as he and his family have attended them since he was five years old.

Having graduated from Carolina with a Bachelors of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Dial-Stanley has returned to Carolina to obtain his master’s degree and advance his professional career.

Dial-Stanley thanks the Native community for helping lead him to where he is today and hopes to tell other Native students who are arriving at UNC-Chapel Hill about all of the opportunities that he had so that they have a chance at them as well.
